As the assistant trainer for Central Alabama Police K-9. My responsibilities include providing customized training for both police and civilian dogs and their handlers. I adapt my teaching style based on individual clients and their dogs, drawing from my knowledge of common law cases. Additionally, I actively assist in the training of police K-9 dogs, organize an annual conference for handlers, and serve as a judge in dog competitions.
As the executive assistant for Central Alabama Police K-9, I efficiently manage administrative tasks using Excel and QuickBooks to track client work, invoices, and payments. May 2023 - August 2023
During my internship at the Vestavia Hills Police Department, I gained invaluable firsthand experience in the operational aspects of law enforcement. I actively contributed to real-time criminal investigations by participating in ride-alongs, observing crime scene procedures, and attending briefing sessions. One of my significant achievements involved assisting in a high-profile white-collar crime case, where I conducted a comprehensive analysis of financial records related to embezzlement totaling over $384,000. I had the privilege of witnessing the development of arrest warrants based on the accumulation of evidence, which underscored the importance of precise documentation and adherence to professional standards. Moreover, my time at the department honed my observational skills through participation in interviews, interrogations, and evidence collection, providing me with a solid foundation in effective information-gathering techniques.
